NEW YORK -- Dave Barry, Robin Givhan, Bill O'Reilly, and Clarence Page will be among the big names at next year's National Society of Newspaper Columnists (NSNC) conference, Philadelphia Daily News columnist Stu Bykofsky told E&P today.
Bykofsky is chairing the conference....Page, of the Chicago Tribune and Tribune Media Services (TMS), will receive the NSNC's lifetime achievement award. O'Reilly, the Fox News host and Creators Syndicate columnist, is slated to give the keynote address. Also speaking at the conference will be Washington Post fashion writer Givhan and humor writer Barry, who formerly wrote a weekly column for The Miami Herald and TMS.
Barry, Givhan, and Page are Pulitzer Prize winners.
Bykofsky said O'Reilly often discusses "the sins" of the print media on radio and TV. "Why not look the sinners in the eye and read them the riot act?," the conference chair recalled asking O'Reilly. Bykofsky said O'Reilly agreed to the invitation within 48 hours.
