In trying to find out when the bin Ladins made their first investment in the US, I came across the fascinating history of the bin Ladens and the Bush family. Seems one James R Bath and George W Bush were both removed from flying for failing to take physical exams -- at about the same time - and indeed just as the government starting testing pilots for illegal drugs, as shown by this document
. Then I find Mr. Bath's tie to the bin Ladens as seen in this document
plus I find that in 1979, Bush’s first business, Arbusto Energy, obtained financing from James Bath. And I find that on 9-11, according to the CBC's Fifth Estate, Bush Sr. dined with bin Laden's brother, Shafig bin Laden at the Ritz Carlton hotel. Now I am interested in a somewhat different topic - what is the Bush/Bin Laden family relationship.
So I checked out story "The Bush-bin Laden Connection" by Andrew Wheat and found "After the death of Mohammed bin Laden, control of the company passed to Salem bin Laden, Osama’s half brother. The roots of the first known Bush-bin Laden convergence date back to the mid-1970s, when the two clans were linked by a Houston businessman named James R. Bath. Bath had befriended George W. Bush in the late 1960s, when they both served in the Texas Air National Guard. By 1976, when Gerald Ford appointed the elder George Bush as CIA director, Bath was acting as a business agent for Salem bin Laden’s interests in Texas. (Texas and Saudi Arabia were well-connected by this point through U.S. oil companies and related industries with operations in both locations.) In 1991 Time magazine and later other publications reported on allegations by Bath’s former business partner that the Bush CIA hired Bath in 1976 to create offshore companies to move CIA funds and aircraft between Texas and Saudi Arabia.
After W. lost a bid for Congress, he decided to launch an oil company in Midland in 1979. For $50,000, Bath bought a 5 percent stake in W.’s Arbusto (Spanish for "Bush") partnerships. At the time, Bath also served as business agent for several prominent Saudis, including Salem bin Laden. In exchange for a percentage of the deals, Bath made U.S. investments for these clients in his own name, according to Time. Although Bath has said that he invested his own money in Arbusto, not Saudi money, the fact that he was Salem’s agent at the time has fueled speculation that Osama bin Laden’s eldest brother was an early investor in W.’s first oil venture.”
Now the bio on Mr. Bath is that he was a native of Natchitoches, La., moving to Houston in 1965 at age 29 to join the Texas Air National Guard. In 1968, he was hired by Atlantic Aviation, a Delaware company that sells business aircraft, to open an office in Houston, which led him to a career as an airplane broker on his own. Sometime around 1974 -- Bath didn't recall the exact date -- as he was trying to sell an F-27 turboprop, he received a phone call from Salem bin Laden, age 25 and heir to the great Saudi Binladin Group fortune and older brother of Osama bin Laden, then 17, wanting to buy the plane. This led to Bath's relationship with Salem bin Laden's close associate, Khalid bin Mahfouz, then also about 25 and heir to the National Commercial Bank of Saudi Arabia, the biggest banking empire in the kingdom.
Which leads us on one of the many paths that connect the CIA, the bin Laden family, and the Bush Family and the DuPonts and others of the rich that control America.
Per information in a legal complaint, Atlantic Aviation owned by Edward DuPont may have been CIA. In the compliant we learn that Charter was a Lanier bank whose directors include E Trine Starnes, Barry Munitz, and Andrew Alexander of Weingarten Realty Inc. The shareholders include Jim Bath who was a trustee for Mahfouz. Summit Aviation, owned by Richard C. DuPont, did in fact turn out later to have had CIA connections.
CIA and fear of flying in small planes when you disagree with the CIA began well before Wellstone's "murder". On September 3, 1967, Mohammed bin Laden (the fellow who started the bin Laden fortune, was killed when his company airplane, a Beechcraft flown by James Harrington, a pilot employed by the Central Intelligence Agency and who had the rank of colonel in the US Air Force, crashed during landing at Hamis Musayt, in southwest Saudi Arabia. Following Mohammed bin Laden's death, his eldest sons, principally Salem bin Laden, renamed the organization, "Binladen Brothers for Contracting and Industry" and continued to expand their late father's company until it employed more than 40,000 people. In 1988, Salem bin Laden, known as an "English speaking western type"(with perhaps too high an ethical standard?) and an expert pilot, died when his ultra-light aircraft crashed after hitting power lines near an air park north of San Antonio, Texas.
Now Saudi-Nazi and Arab-Nazi ties are well known and excused by some by saying they just liked the Nazi attitude toward Jews. But it is an interesting question to ask if the Bush's and the Bin Laden's were working together to support the Nazi's. George Walker, GW's great-grandfather, set up the takeover of the Hamburg-America Line, a cover for I.G. Farben's Nazi espionage unit in the United States (I.G. Farben put the gas in gas chambers as the producer of Zyklon B and the other gasses used on victims of the Holocaust). The Bush family was not unaware of the nature of their investment partners. They hired Allen Dulles, the future head of the CIA, to hide the funds they were making from Nazi investments and the funds they were sending to Nazi Germany, rather than divest. Prescott Bush, son of George, was a director and shareholder of Union Banking Corporation, is recorded history as having a problem during WW2 - On October 20, 1942, the US Alien Property Custodian, under the "Trading With the Enemy Act," seized the shares of the Union Banking Corporation because UBC was established to send American capital to Germany to finance the reorganization of its industry under the Nazis. Their leading German partner was the notorious Nazi industrialist Fritz Thyssen, who wrote a book admitting much of this called "I Paid Hitler.", but the also financed the Silesian-American Corporation, which was also managed by Prescott Bush, and by his father-in-law George Herbert Walker, which was vital in supplying coal to the Nazi war industry. It too was seized as a Nazi-front on November 17, 1942. The largest company Bush's UBC helped finance was the German Steel Trust, responsible for between one-third and one-half of Nazi iron and explosives.
But can one be condemned just because who your friends are? Indeed some of the deeds of Avril Harriman, Allen Dulles, the Rockefellers, James Baker III, Gulf Oil, Pennzoil, Osama bin Laden, etc. are thought to have been good deeds. But one does wonder why Nazi War Crimes prosecutor John Loftus said ("The Secret War Against the Jews."

"What the Allied investigators never understood was that they were not asking Thyssen the right question. Thyssen did not need any foreign bank accounts because his family secretly owned an entire chain of banks. He did not have to transfer his Nazi assets at the end of World War II; all he had to do was transfer the ownership documents - stocks, bonds, deeds and trusts--from his bank in Berlin through his bank in Holland to his American friends in New York City, Prescott Bush and Herbert Walker. Thyssen's partners in crime were the father and father-in-law of a future President of the United States. Indeed whose side Alan Dulles of CIA fame was on comes into question. Again from John Loftus "The British and American interrogators may have gravely underestimated Thyssen but they nonetheless knew they were being lied to. Their suspicions focused on one Dutch Bank in particular, the Bank voor Handel enScheepvaart, in Rotterdam. This bank did a lot of business with the Thyssens over the years. In 1923, as a favor to him, the Rotterdam bank loaned the money to build the very first Nazi party headquarters in Munich....If the investigators realized that the US intelligence chief in postwar Germany, Allen Dulles, was also the Rotterdam bank's lawyer, they might have asked some very interesting questions. They did not know that Thyssen was Dulles' client as well. Nor did they ever realize that it was Allen Dulles's other client, Baron Kurt Von Schroeder who was the Nazi trustee for the Thyssen companies which now claimed to be owned by the Dutch. The Rotterdam Bank was at the heart of Dulles' cloaking scheme, and he guarded its secrets jealously. As Loftus notes "The enormous sums of money deposited into the Union Bank prior to 1942 is the best evidence that Prescott Bush knowingly served as a money launderer for the Nazis. Remember that Union Banks' books and accounts were frozen by the U.S. Alien Property Custodian in 1942 and not released back to the Bush family until 1951. At that time, Union Bank shares representing hundreds of millions of dollars worth of industrial stocks and bonds were unblocked for distribution. Did the Bush family really believe that such enormous sums came from Dutch enterprises? One could sell tulip bulbs and wooden shoes for centuries and not achieve those sums. A fortune this size could only have come from the Thyssen profits made from rearming the Third Reich, and then hidden, first from the Nazi tax auditors, and then from the Allies."
Of course, in the era before electronic voting machines owned by the GOP, the revelation of Prescott Bush being an activist in the old fascist eugenics movement was able to sink his 1950 senatorial campaign. losing by about 1,000 out of 862,000 votes. So maybe there is a bit of Karma. I kind of like how George W Bush put it "Drew Pearson, on the Sunday before Election day, ‘revealed’ that my father was involved with Planned Parenthood."
What a fascinating topic this turned out to be. No wonder our US media has ignored it.
