Has Clark pulled out of Oklahoma as well?
I have a buddy across the state line who says Clark has cancelled all events in Oklahoma and will not have a state wide effort there. Clark will not run ads or spend any money there. First Iowa and now Oklahoma. I guess there is fuel in the rumours I keep hearing about that camapign being very disorganized.

1. I can understand Iowa--but Oklahoma?
That looks to be a place he'd have a natural following--if that's true, that's a hard move to understand...suuure hope it turns out NOT to be the case!

B-)

2. Why not get information from your friend and post it here?
He's the one who claims to know, so ask him. What events did Clark have scheduled in Oklahoma, what did he supposedly cancel, what kind of organization does he have there? While you're at it, when is the Oklahoma primary and how much organizing are other candidates doing there?

I think this might be more useful than posting a rumor and letting people extrapolate from it.

3. Here's What I Found Out
Clark cancelled a fund raiser at the last minute in Oklahoma City last Friday. He also cancelled a promised appearance at the Mike Synar Bar-B-Que this weekend. This is the single largest Democratic event in Oklahoma. According to the Oklahoma Democratic Party, Clark has no "Official staff in Oklahoma". Lieberman, Edwards, Dean, Gephart, and Kerry all have "Offical staff and offices in Oklahoma. Edwards, Gephart, and Kerry are suppose to be at the Bar-B-Que this weekend.

Does that help?

5. Clark has been ill.
Last weekend he was ill, so I think that explains the cancellation.

http://oklahomansforclark.com/fundraisers.htm suggests that there are organized people in several counties. But it doesn't look like they are "official" offices.

And it says the BBQ is scheduled to have a booth. http://oklahomansforclark.com/synarbarbeque.htm

But that doesn't mean Clark will be there. Their primary is Feb 03, one of the Super Tuesdays.

There's a debate on Sunday in Michigan. I think he's working on making a good showing in New Hampshire right now.

He'll get to OK! Okay?

9. Mike Synar
Now there's a name I haven't heard in a long time. He was on the Judiciary Committee when I interned for Jack Brooks in DC. Congressman Synar was such a nice man, actually treated us interns like we were people rather than just worker bees. I remember him being very friendly, and always smiling.

It was very sad to hear a few years later that he had (brain?) cancer and had died. He was so young, too.

(sorry- no intent to hijack the thread)

4. Laryngitis - He does not have a voice now...
His campaign is concerned because there is a debate coming soon. He needs his voice for that.
Comprende?

10. In its late stages, Chronic Clark-Bashing Syndrome
... is characterized by an inability to make even the most rudimentary logical connections. In this case, for example, one can only wonder how Clark can be said to be "running his campaign on rumors," (what does that even mean?) and how the fact that some DU-er, who may or may not be a Clark supporter, has posted a rumor on the otherwise COMPLETELY RUMOR-FREE DU board, counts as evidence that Clark is "running his campaign on rumors."

12. it means this
In this case, for example, one can only wonder how Clark can be said to be "running his campaign on rumors," (what does that even mean?)

it means that Clark and his minions have been using rumors, encouraging them, spreading them, and profiting from them, to generate favorable publicity for Clark since before day one. rumors about when and where Clark would or would not announce. rumors about what he was doing while not-announcing and not-admitting he was a democrat. rumors about who was going to endorse or join the campaign. rumors about how many congresspeople would endorse him. remember that one? link

rumors have surrounded the campaign and characterized it even before Clark announced. Clark could have easily put a stop to the rumors by releasing the true information, but he didn't.

6. I checked oklahomansforclark.com
... including the discussion boards, and see no sign that they were expecting him to show up for the Synar event (just plans to have a Clark table there). It looks like he was at one time scheduled to be in Oklahoma on Oct. 16, but that was cancelled -- along with all other events last week because of his flu/laryngitis.

There have certainly been communication and coordination lags between the grassroots organizations and Little Rock, so some groups are going to feel "orphaned" until Little Rock catches up -- especially those in states that don't get as much primary attention in general, I imagine.

This shit stirred up by the kooks at OKDemocrats.com

In fact you may be one...is that you Rusty?

Anyway there is a goup on there that just hates this guy named Jason who is sort of working for Clark ( but not really). It's all crazy bullshit.

More: Clark hopes to pick up his first victory Feb. 3, mostly likely in South Carolina, where veterans make up a sizable portion of the electorate. He's also building teams to campaign in New Mexico, Oklahoma and Arizona.

13. This is from demookie.com
Nancy,

This is from the demookie.com board. Are their kooks better than the okdemocrat board?

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
I jumped on the Clark bandwagon the day he announced, and I still think he would have the best chance of sending Bush back to Crawford for good - IF - his campaign ever gets its act together.

The Clark Campaign can't pull out of Oklahoma when they never have put any resources into Oklahoma.

I don't know what is going on in Little Rock, but they are certainly not helping with anything in Oklahoma.

Because they have not sent anything (I mean nothing) to Oklahoma, a group of us had talked about buying bumper stickers, etc. to help get his name out and show support in Oklahoma. When we went to see General Clark at the Transport Workers Union in Tulsa, his folks told us "No" they do not want any In-Kind donations (which is what that would be if we bought campaign materials). They want everthing (cash) sent to Little Rock, then they'll supposedly send us materials.

In the meantime, there is nothing in Oklahoma but Internet activity and group meetings of Clark supporters, while the campaign is going down in flames (my opinion).

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Are you the Nancy who organized the Peace Marches in Tulsa?
