Undeterred, Kucinich keeps on
<snip>

Because he beat long odds so many times before, Kucinich insists he can beat them now. At house parties and college meetings, voters who wouldn't dream of voting for Nader this time agree with the congressman.

"I think he's what America needs," said Melissa Brothers, 27, who voted for Nader in 2000, and was among about 70 people who went to hear Kucinich recently at Plymouth State College in New Hampshire, where he got a standing ovation.

Gary Walker, 54, a mason who attended the same event, also voted for Nader in 2000. "I'm a dirty rotten liberal, and Kucinich is the only candidate I see that is progressive on all the issues," said Walker. "He's the one candidate that will stand up to the big corporate interests running the country down the tubes."

"It seems to be going around in an underground fashion that he speaks for people like me and my friends. I'm glad he's out there," said Laurie Sargent, a musician from Hopkinton, N.H., who attended a reception for Kucinich at an organic farm there called Erdenheim.

"I just reread your book, and I tried to find something I disagreed with, and I couldn't find anything," Howard Taylor, 66, a retired consultant, and a peace activist, told Kucinich at a recent house party in Rumney, N.H.

"He's dealing with the systemic issues of our society, and none of the rest of them are," Taylor said later.

1. Nice one indeed, LW.
Here's a key passage:

Kucinich brought the house down; the workers hooted for him more loudly than they had for Dean. But few beyond the room would hear them: The TV cameras had left with the former Vermont governor.

He gets better responses than Dean gets.

But he's ignored by the media.

We're being sold a bill of goods, but nobody wants to hear that.

4. Once again
The media is not a friend of the American people. Anyone who thinks otherwise is an idiot.

2. Yes, Dennis is the man.
Can you imagine what kind of country and world we could create with Dennis Kucinich as our President? I like that vision.

6. I, too, like that vision.
That's what attracts people to Dennis; his vision of a better America, his plan to achieve it, and the heart and sweat he pours into the work.

3. More each day
I wonder at the possibilities of a Dean/Kucinich ticket.

Do not take this as an insult, Kucinich supporters, please. It is intended as a positive. A few months ago I consdiered Kucinich an irrelevancy in the race. I am interested to see how his primary numbers shake out.

7. Prepare to be suprised in Iowa
I will be so bold as to predict a fourth place showing. I may be entirely wrong, but the reports I've been hearing from MN volunteers in Iowa are VERY promising and optimistic.

I personally don't know if DK would run as a VP choice for anyone. I think he truly enjoys his work in the House, and would prefer to continue working there with the new House Democratic Majority we'll have after November 2004!

8. And will go up with the airing of commercials
Sad that so many have to have information handed to them...

But yea, to see their effect!

12. I'd rather see him take 3rd

2nd would be even better. That could show people that the leftward end of the party, not to mention the country, is a force to be reckoned with, and could result in a VP slot. And I think DK definitely would take it. Despite the fact that he enjoys his work in the house, he is not stupid, and being VP puts him in a position to do even more good in the Senate, and lines him up nicely to be the presumptive nominee after Dean serves his 2 terms. :)

9. Did you all read the great news about $$$ for DK?

I'm excited that the contributions are picking up -- he needs the funds to keep on through the primaries. I'll be sending him a mode$t gift myself.
