E-mail Gary Hart!
Hey friends, now is the time to help save Colorado!

Rep. Mark Udall recently said that he will not oppose Sen. Ben Nighthorse Campbell in this year's Senate race. Gary Hart is the one credible candidate who has left the door open for a run. Please e-mail him today and ask him to run for Senate, lest Nighthorse run unopposed. I'm sorry I don't have a link to his site, but just go to Google and type in his name. His site should be on top of the list.

Nighthorse is down to 51% in recent polls and nobody is even running against him at this point! This would be a huge win and would offset any potential losses in the South. E-mail Mr. Hart today!

1. He gave the Democratic Party a black eye
no thank you.

Running him will only bring back bad memories and will further turn people off to the Democratic Party.

5. Nope. The Hart-Rudman report could have prevented 9-11
if it had been implemented. People will GET that.

8. What the person out in the street will see is Donna Rice all over
the news again.

To tell you the truth, I honestly don't care if Hart was set up. If Hart couldn't keep his dick in his pants then he deserves what he got and what he is going to get.

9. 9-11 trumps Donna Rice.
The fire fighters will work for Hart, too. Don't underestimate their influence in this next election.

11. Is the media going to announce work on 9/11? I don't think so
Edited on Thu Jan-29-04 01:39 PM by lcordero
Is the media going to talk about Donna Rice? You betcha

Nobody has any appreciation for somebody that doesn't have self-control, especially a whole generation of people that were raised in one parent homes.

on edit: Assuming that Dems are playing on a level playing field is dangerous. Always, always, always assume that one isn't playing on a level playing field.

2. This is the same Hart that criticized Dean's foreign policy credentials?
Hmmmm...seems people should have to live with the consequences of their actions. No thanks.

3. Gary Hart has my support
Edited on Thu Jan-29-04 12:35 PM by HawkeyeX
and so does Denver's popular former mayor Wellington Webb -- it's time for another African American senator. Local rag said that he's considering a run. Federico Peña, our other former Denver mayor (Webb's predecessor) decided not to run for Senator in Colorado.

6. Wellington Webb would be a great choice.
He was a good mayor and I'd be proud to have him as my Senator. Anyone who brought baseball to Colorado can't be all bad! I haven't heard of him running though.

4. Gary Hart will run with Kerry at the top of the ticket.
I already know that through DNC little birdies.

7. Wouldn't that be something?
I would PAY to see a Gary Hart-Dick Cheney debate.

10. That'd be great, but
I meant run as Senator with Kerry at the top. I'm not so sure about the VP, but, I'd also love to see Hart as Secretary of Stae or in charge of Homeland Security if we're stuck with it, anyway.

It's going to be a GREAT year for liberals, imo. Tough doves moving the world forward.

13. as I was watching Sen. Levin grill David Kay on C- Span
(and doing an excellent job of it), a thought crossed my mind. Wouldn't it be great to have Gary Hart, with all his national security expertise, going over this guy?

I will gladly vote for Sen. Hart, if he decides to run. And I actually live in Colorado, unlike some of the posters to this thread.

14. Boy! We gotta help the south, the south, THE SOUTH!
But flyover Colorado has a phony native (he named himself "Nighthorse") Repug running unopposed, and it's "Eat Shit Cowboy! The West doesn't count".:eyes:

I live here, and I will support anybody, including Hart, because I'm ABC...anybody but Campbell.

15. Do you people have any better ideas?
I'm too young to remember his sex scandal, but asuming that's as big an issue as some of you claim, can any of you suggest another candidate who has suggested they will run? Wellington Webb would be a great candidate, but I haven't heard any rumblings about him making a run for it. My point is that Campbell can't be allowed to run unopposed and Hart seems to be the only game in town. Therefore, we need to get him to throw his hat in the ring. If someone else runs and beats him in a primary, that's fine with me. We just need someone to beat Campbell. This is a huge oppertunity for us!

16. I'd like to see Ken Salazar run
if Hart doesn't. He's already shown he can win a statewide election.

I don't think Webb can win a statewide race. I hope he doesn't run - I'd vote for him if he does, but I don't like him as a candidate.
