Don De Grand Pre, and during the build-up toward war, in the day's following 9-11 terrorist tragedy, we witnessed a mad rush by the Bush-Cheney crowd to destroy the Constitution scrap civil liberties and istitute a "POLICE STATE" with the so-called "PATRIOT ACT" all in the name of fighting "Terrorism". And then when it became strategically convenient, the Bush-Cheney cabal began hyping (over-and-over again) the long-ago discredited lie that Iraq leader Saddam Hussein somehow played a role in 9/11 again another LIE!!

8. I really think the papers need to be filed in Congress

It puts the question on the front pages of newspapers
and with commentators. Hastert et al will put off hearings
etc., but it will linger there like the elephant in
the room.

9. Did BUSH make the case that "we are at war"

And that gives him great powers, right---- Put your self in GWBs shoes.

He thinks the Afgan war resolution , is = to a declararion of war. SO lets follow this GREAT premise--- bear with me for a moment

What section 1811 was Intended for IMHO, is to give the Feds not 72 hrs after starting a wiretap to apply for a court order, but 15 days---- before they have to apply for the court order--- only if a declaration of war has been made. Section 1811 expands the FEDS power during a time of declared war.

But the Bush regime ignored even that 15 day provision, which they could have invoked, in an effort to be seen as "doing the right thing". Of course intercepting millions of emails and phone calls has to be covered up somehow. (cough)

We have to reach the vast majority of people who are for the most part uninformed about this issue. This is why I use the Feingold quote, chillingly followed by Bush's dictator quote.

12. Done with the massive email;

1) That list needs updated as there were quite a few that came back to me via ms mail. I counted 19. Also, to save some time, I took about 45 minutes, the email addresses could have been continuous. By that I mean after a comma, there should not be any spaces. Maybe some other mail systems use a different method, however ms is this way. Go figure. I'm not complaining, I'm suggesting there's a better way, possibly.

My letter was short and to the point.

Sir,

The one thing that I do not understand about this matter is why did the White House not get warrants 'after' the searches, thereby making them legal in the eyes of the FISA court?

Thank you in advance for your time. I know I'm a nobody and do not expect a reply, it's just that this question is heavy on my mind.

13. Letters to the Editor are always a good idea

This one is so funny, I can't believe it made it to the paper...

I COULDN'T agree more with the impeach Bush letter of Dec. 23. This president has shown again in his defiance to follow our laws and go through Congress to approve his spying on Americans citizens that he is mentally unstable. This man is an egomaniac and is walking the line of a dictator. He sees himself as a king instead of a president that should work for the people through his country's laws and Constitution.

Bush and his whole administration are habitual liars and try to intimidate the people who don't agree with them. The people who still give this president a 30 percent rating must be missing 70 percent of their brains. This president should be impeached, put in an iron mask, shackled and thrown in the loony bin before he destroys this country.
