American Family Association asked to pass along this boycott request:
PROCTER & GAMBLE LARGEST CONTRIBUTOR IN EFFORTS TO GAIN SPECIAL RIGHTS FOR HOMOSEXUALS

Procter & Gamble is the largest contributor to the “Yes on 3” campaign in Cincinnati, an effort to give special rights to homosexuals.
The latest figures show that P&G has given $30,000 to the campaign, more than any other contributor! P&G said in a public letter that securing special rights for homosexuals was the “right” thing to do, and that those who oppose the “Yes on 3” efforts are “out of step.”

While P&G is leading the effort to give homosexuals special rights in Cincinnati, the company has refused to endorse the Ohio Marriage Protection Amendment that defines marriage as being between one man and one woman.

P&G aggressively promotes special rights for homosexuals, but at the same time refuses to take a stand for traditional marriage. It is no longer a secret that P&G has become a leader in pushing the homosexual agenda.

P&G has a history of consistently doing this. In a letter sent to their employees, P&G said: “We value differences and will not tolerate discrimination in any form, against anyone, for any reason.” Opposing same sex marriage is discrimination for good reason, but P&G says it will not tolerate discrimination.

P&G thinks that hundreds of thousands of voters in the following states are “out of step” and did not do what is “right,” (thus it was wrong) when they voted to discriminate against homosexuals by not allowing them to marry. In the states of Hawaii (69.2% to 28.6%), Alaska (68.11% to 31.89%), Nebraska (70.1% to 29.9%), Nevada (67.1% to 32.7%), Missouri (70.7% to 29.3%) and Louisiana (78% to 22%), large majorities have voted into their state constitutions a ban on homosexual marriage.

It is no longer a secret where P&G stands on the homosexual marriage issue.

American Family Association is asking individuals to:

Boycott three products of P&G — Crest toothpaste, Tide detergent, and Pampers diapers. (Some are boycotting all P&G products, which we encourage. To print out a list of P&G products, click here.)

Call Chairman A.G. Lafley at 513-983-1100 and politely let him know that you are participating in the boycott and will ask others to do the same.

Please register your support for the boycott at www.pgboycott.com.

Print out a Boycott Procter & Gamble petition and distribute among Sunday School and church members and with your friends.

Please forward this to friends and family.

Sincerely,

Don

Donald E. Wildmon, Founder and Chairman

7. She Saved me
In all honesty her site, (and a pesky co-worker constantly forcing me to read DU's Top 10 lists every week) help bring me out of darkness into the light. I am now a well-adjusted ex-gay Republican. Glory!

8. What is it with these people?
They are obsessed with the "homosexual agenda" - whatever that is. :eyes:

They act as if preventing gay marriage would completely eliminate gay couples/families from the face of the Earth. The fact is, gay couples are already making commitments to spend their lives together, raising children, buying houses, being active in their community ... so what's the problem with giving them and their children some legal protection? It's not going to make a bit of difference to me, you or any person who isn't gay!

When are these people going to get a life? If they put half as much time into helping people and practicing the Christian values they claim believe in, the world would be a much better place!

9. "special rights to homosexuals" ? WTF?
So, is he saying P&G advocating homosexuals be allowed to:
drive 70 in school zones?
shout fire in crowded theaters?
jay walk on the freeway?
Just what 'special rights' is he talking about?

Or is it just the same rights as heterosexuals enjoy that he is afraid they might share?
marriage and all the social/economic/cultural benefits?
joint tax filing, decisions regarding partner's health care? ability
to plan the funeral of a life partner when the time comes?
recognition of the stability their union gives the community?
protection from job discrimination?
protection from housing discrimination?
ability to adopt and provide loving homes for children who need parents?

I simply cannot fathom what the hell these homophobic imbeciles are so afraid of and angry about. Jeeze, some guys like blonds, some like brunettes, so what if some like blond of brunettes of the same gender? I have never been able to grasp what the problem is.

12. I hate rednecks
I had a summer job where I worked with racist homophobic rednecks who refered to the democratic party as "the party of faggots and niggers." I'm still bitter about it but before quitting in disgust I got into a debate (arguement) with my boss Chip and almost all of my crew mates about gay marriage. It was triggered by Chip reading an article in the paper about the defeat about the gay marriage amendment and snorting about it failing. I said it was a election year ploy to force the democrats to go on the record about the issue and I'm glad the democrats came through. Then all hell broke lose since I was aparently the only non-bigot there. They said that marriage is a christian institution so I brought up the fact that marriage exist in almost all cultures, including non-christian ones such as china and that anchient greece tolerated homosexuality. He said that I was full of shit and that back in the day gays were stoned to death. I asked him if he wanted to go back to that and he said "YES!" He asked me later in the debate if I went to church, I said "no." He asked if I even believed in god and I said "no." He then said "Well there you go" as if that proved something. He also said that "only people who want gay marriage are fags." When I told him I was not gay, he said he wasn't so sure of that. For the rest of the time I was working there he said I wasn't as productive because of my "limp wrists."

Other members of the crew were worse saying that they didn't even support inter-racial marriage and blamed homosexuality on child molestation.

By the way, if you find their statements offensive and you live in jacksonville, Florida, they're fairly typical of everyone who worked for that company but me. The company was L.D.Bradley Land Surveying. I'm not sure how you would be able to boycott them as a consumer, but if you should ever have a construction project of some kind, don't use them.

13. Good for you.
You showed a lot of courage in fighting the good fight on that issue with your co-workers. Sounds like you got punished by the thought police too, as do most people who stand up for what is right. People don't like being exposed and questioned for being closed-minded bigots, and the truth hurts.

The world would be a better place if more of us shared your courage.
