Worst miniseries ever?
My top vote goes to Dune, showing right now on the Sci Fi channel. Stiff acting. Generic "future" props. Terrible special effects. Bizarre costuming.

2. I completely disagree
1)this version was true to the book, unlike the first one
2)the special effects are fine IMO. Look at Dr Who if you want bad special effects.
3)truly bizarre costuming was found in the first movie

My vote for worst miniseries ever: V.

3. The special effects are fine?
Have you seen this thing? They think colored lights are a good special effect. And the blue-screen work is soooo obvious.

4. Are we looking at the same thing?
All the special effects in this one are computer generated. There aren't any blue screens.

8. I think we are
Actors in the foreground on a distinctly different plane than the special effects in the background.

And I'd forgotten about that attempt to make a woman look exotic by sticking butterflies to her dress. And the blue lights...agh...the blue lights.

5. Is this the one with William Hurt as Leto?
Sure wish they could taken him off of his morphine drip while he made this movie. The corpse in Weekend at Bernie's was a better actor, and a hell of a lot more animated.

And the thing was absolutely incomprehensible. I'm sure the book was wonderful, but it appears there are concepts in it that take a lot longer than four hours (or however long it was, I stopped watching after two and a half) to develop onscreen.

6. There has YET to be a mini-series as bad as this one-
"Amerika." (1987)

Right-winger "rebuttal" to "The Day After."

7. Wasnt the first Dune series
By David Lynch? I always kinda like the artsy look to his uniforms, ships and such. But thats just me, what do I know.
