Is to become an Honorary Newfoundlander

There are four requirements to becoming screeched in

1. First of all you have to be "sponsored" by a real Newfie.
2. Secondly, you have to "kiss a Cod".
3. Next you down a shot of Newfoundland Screech.
4. And finally you repeat the phrase:

"Long may your big jib draw."

Kissing the cod is becoming harder to do in Newfoundland, what with the sad state of the fishery....
