Singer Mindy McCready took off with her 5 year old son

and Child Protective Services tells her she has to return him to her father's house (he has custody) by 5PM Thursday or face arrest. To add even more craziness, her publicist says she's pregnant with twins. Poor kid.

She's been in trouble for domestic abuse, drug abuse and has tried suicide. Her parents, (who must be divorced) have custody of the 5-year-old and he lives with the grandfather while McCready lives with her mother and has visitation. When she was a teen she had an affair with baseball star Roger Clemons.

6. Another Dr, Drew success story

I watched the first season of Celebrity Rehab out of curiosity because I was taking a substance abuse counseling course at the time, and was curious to see theory put into practice -- and it was interesting. That said, later seasons really turned me off because I got the uncomfortable feeling that the show was becoming all about the drama at the expense of the patients. No wonder a few of them have met bad ends.

Here's hoping McCready gets the help she needs, not necessarily at the Pasadena Recovery Center.

7. If you get a chance to see the movie about Bob Forest called "Bob and the Monster"

You should check that out -- he is a counselor on Celeb Rehab and also is disheartened with the way the show was going, in fact I think he & Dr. Drew decided not to bring it back for that reason, I think I remember reading that somewhere.

Lord, what a tough time that show's alums are having. And this isn't coming down on the show (though I am always amazed at Hollywood culture). But substance abuse and its coocurring disorders are just horrors to recover from.
