The geology of my area is really interesting. I live in hilly territory (well, by local standards), an area of glacial moraines that rise about 400 to 500 feet above the sloping, flat topography to the east that was once the lake bed of Glacial Lake Maumee. It can make things fun, like when that slight increase in elevation makes it snow in my community whereas on the old lake bed it's just rain. We also have hundreds of small inland lakes here, water trapped by the hills, I guess.
