17. Sorry about the delay -- I was EXHAUSTED from lying around doing nothing all week.

So, there I am, a week ago last Monday... going to my morning Physical Therapy
appointment and no more than 25 yards from the hospital's front door, when I
got really "woozy" and drifted off a little to the right. My legs started getting
weak and I tried to turn around and sit down on the seat of my walker. Not
enoughtime -- I was able to break my fall and roll slowly onto the ground. Didn't
lose consciousness, hit my head or experience any chest pains, etc.
.
They got me right to the ER where they took my history, my vital signs... and then
made me wait about 5 hours to see a doctor. They admitted me, but I was stuck in
the ER for over 24 hours (no beds upstairs).
.
They thought it was likely to be two things -- either a medication that had fallen by
the wayside in my shuttles between the hospital and the rehab center from May
through August or a longer-than-usual spell of that ol' debbil A-fib/A-flutter causing
a drop in oxygen to my brain or something... making me momentarily kinda stupid.
.
Yes, Kali... I said momentarily.

.
So, a full week getting test values and blood levels back to normal. They don't
THINK I had a heart attack -- my enzymes were a LITTLE off, which could mean a
LITTLE heart muscle damage -- but it wasn't definitive.

Wouldn't you know it? I had expected the bus to get me to the hospital RIGHT before
my appointment and expected to come right home so, for the first time in WEEKS...
I didn't have my laptop with me.

.
Thank you for all the vibes and well-wishes and love -- I KNEW they were coming in
and they helped keep my spirits up.
.
One cool thing -- several people on the staff here who worked in other wards/floors
came in to say hi -- they had seen my name on some list and virtually all of them
said that, if I just HAD to be there, they were sorry I wasn't on their watch.
