12. In Cuba. The original roaming gnome was based on a story from Ontario.
Someone had their gnome stolen. A few weeks later they started to get pictures of the gnome as postcards from Cuba. One day soon the gnome was returned to their garden.

14. Needs to be beside a rock in front of a shrub of some sort
Bonus points if theres a small pond or something of that nature for it to be looking at to conceal the fact that it's actually looking at YOU.
