2. Yep. They had asbestos in 'em.
When I used to do asbestos defense work, they got sued frequently.

3. My mother smoked Kents
Edited on Thu Jul-14-11 09:38 AM by hifiguy
until she was forced to quit smoking after she broke her hip and had to move into assisted living. I don't ever remember her not smoking Kents until then - some 45 years. Somehow she lived to 86.

4. I sure do remember Kent cigarettes and those filters...
Of course, back then, I was not aware of the asbestos component.

Gack.

5. I remember the commercial jingle.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LfWF6N8jQw4

After the incident at Kent State where National
Guard troops fired on demonstrating students,
some wags added a stanza saying:
"To a Guardsman, it's a Kent."

8. Kents with the Asbestos Filter weren't the most dangerous smokes around...
Chesterfields turn you into a tyrannical despot.

9. Good 'un. I do remember these Kent things. I didn't smoke and have lost a few folks to the habit.
