How should I spend my tax return?
Edited on Sat Apr-03-04 04:39 PM by Skeptical Democrat
It's a big one! It's over a couple grand!

Pay bills?

Pay bills?

Take a trip?

Pay bills?

Blow it on something frivolous and pay a few bills?

Pay bills?

Take a short trip and pay a few bills?

Pay bills?

Blow the whole thing?

Pay bills?

Oh, did I mention I was behind in bills this month?

How shall I spend my windfall? I'm going to the bank first thing Monday to deposit my check.

1. I think you need to pay some bills then
go on a nice trip and then buy some stuff just for yourself. Have fun spending.

4. Pay Bills, and donate to The Cause.
Kerry could use even a small donation.

And so could The Guy James Show. ( http://www.TheGuyJamesShow.com )

11. Fortunately I am able to do my own, thanks to a few tax accounting
classes back in college. It gets more complicated every year, and with a rental the last few years that I made improvements on and a home business.

Thank goodness for TurboTax Home and Business to make the going a bit easier and make some of the calculations easier. And it automatically pulls up prior years tax info for me so I don't have to keep it all spread out on the table in front of me. I highly recommend it.

And it allows you to have your return automatically deposited in your checking account. I messed that up this year because I changed banks and forgot to make the change when I did my taxes. Whoops! I forgot!

6. pay your bills
put the rest into your mortgage, except perhaps reserve some for something special, like some artwork, books you want, donate to a cause, etc.

But the more debt free, the better. :-)

7. Don't spend it all in one place.
Do 3 things. Pay some bills, choose between buying something frivolous but not too expensive or a modest getaway trip, and donate at least a little to JK

15. Oh, I'd be tempted to go crazy and blow it. But
I'm too practical. I'd pay off all the bills and leave something to treat myself with.

Have fun!

I'm jealous!

1/3 to debt; 1/3 to savings; 1/3 to FUN!!! It's the key to a happy life.

18. this is very dangerous
no amateur should ever haveto go through this dangerous time alone. I urge you to send it all to me. I will live the high life for a bit and report back. Believe me, living my life vicariously is better than anything you could come up with on your own.

But, I'm going to try to rought this one out on my own this time.

Not that I don't appreciate you trying to take up this awesome burdon for me though. I must grow up some time.

I'll jump in with both feet this trip and do the best I can. ;-)
