:eyes:

Seriously, why would any 25 year old woman in her right mind marry an 85 year old man.

Anyone else shocked this wedding never happened?

1. If the 85-year-old man had a fat bank account and one foot in the grave...

3. But it's the truth - what other reason would have 25 year old woman want to marry someone 60 years
older than she is?

For all we know Hef got a good bill of health from the doctors and she figured it was best to bail when she can.

6. Oh come on, Lynne, did you take my post seriously?
Personally, I think it's not a coincidence that she dumped him until after Weiner's weiner was released.

7. "what other reason ... marry someone 60 years older"
I don't know about Hef, but I consider myself a quite a catch, and some lucky girl who will be born in the year 2027 might just think so too! :bounce:

9. The famous Hef quote from the early 70s, when he was still with Barbi Benton:
REPORTER: Have you ever considered that these women may only be with you for your money?

HEF: WHO CARES???

I don't think he cares any more in 2011 than he did in 1973.

4. Hef's mother died at 98 so there's some
longevity in those genes. Crystal was looking at perhaps over a decade eventually playing nursemaid to a very elderly sick old man who had drawn up an iron clad pre-nup - not a pleasant thought for a 25-year-old. Chances are she simply came to her senses.

8. It's getting so an old geezer can't drag around a young trophy and tell his buddies
Check out the headlights and caboose on this one! Don't you wish you were boinking her?

And it's not like his love was inappropriate: nobody ever heard Hugh say I love her brains or I admire her for her accomplishments or anything crude like that in public

"every time he drops his drawers". :)

14. The cynicism around here is appalling
Doesn't anybody believe in romantic love any more. I mean here's a successful older guy who finds true love late in life, and just before the wedding she dumps his scrawny ass. I had to reach for a hanky.
