I would greatly appreciate good DU vibes for my stepdaughter, KC. She is approximately 7 months pregnant with her second child and just went from a perfectly normal pregnancy to High Risk due to liver problems. In addition to feeling awful, and itching really badly, the condition is not good for her child. KC goes tomorrow for a stress test to determine what the fetus' stage of development is and whether or not she (they know its a girl) can be safely delivered sooner rather than later. 10. A bit of an update and thanks

First, thank you to all. KC went to the doctor this morning. As she put it, some good news, some not-so-good news. The good news is that the baby is doing just fine at the moment. The not-so-good news is that the first part of the blood work came back and does show elevated liver enzymes and bile production, pretty much confirming that KC has obstetrical cholestasis. The OB does not want to discuss hospitalization or early delivery of the baby until the second part of the blood work comes back which will indicate rapidity of change in the enzyme and bile levels. That could be tomorrow or it could be Monday. KC did mention that the OB gave her a script for what amounts to super-benedryl to help with the itching, but that it's not helping as much as she would like it to. So we are in the "wait and see" mode. Again, thank you for the DU vibes! :yourock:
