I have a cat, a black & cream tortie I call Siouxsie, who loves to be rubbed under the chin. I accommodate her as often as possible, but she seems to think that the best time for me to pet her is when I'm asleep.

She had taken to nudging my hands in the middle of the night (I call this "wookin' pa nub" after the "Buckwheat Sings" skit from Saturday Night Live) so I thought I'd out-smart her by putting my hands under the covers.

This morning she decided to be more assertive and started head-butting me in my back and shoulder.

When this girl wants nub, she wants nub!!!

1. My cat, Chess, loves the computer.

I'll be at my PC, and Chess will jump up on the computer table and sit rioht in front of the monitor. She'll stare at it for minutes and paw at it occasionally.

She also likes walking on the keyboard. :-)

2. Hi Def TV

I got the Dish hookup this year with Hi Def TV (it's truly awesome...like black & white to color all over again).

One of my favorite channels is the Discovery HD channel...my cat has been constantly attacking my TV ever since it's been hooked up, because it looks so damned real...

Last week, a lion was on the tv with it's tail swishing around, the next moment, my cat was attacking and trying to get the tail...

3. I call one of my cats "the slut"

Seriously, you know how it's easier to get some cats to purr than others? Well, with him, you just have to look at him to get him to purr like crazy.

If I roll over in the middle of the night, he considers that a sign that I'm ready to pet him :)

5. My cat uses my hand like a washcloth for her head...

She'll lick my hand over and over until it is well coated with kitty spit, and then she wil rub the top of her head on that spot a few times. Then she'll repeat the whole process about 10 times.

6. My grandmother's cat

I can recollect that every afternoon, when my grandmother used to go upstairs to her bedroom to have an afternoon siesta, this cat would force her to carry him up the stairs and into the bedroom with her. This despite the fact that my grandmother was frail and often used a walking stick and that the cat would quite happily run up and down the stairs at other times during the day –proving that he was quite capable of moving around without being carried. We all used to think he was the most conceited and self-interested cat we had ever seen –and we were all familiar with the domineering personality of cats. My grandmother’s life basically revolved around the cat –he made it perfectly clear who was in charge

My grandmother’s cat wasn’t that smart though. One time my uncle tricked him into biting his own tail. Not surprising he never did it again after falling for my uncle's trap
