Louis CK - new material
Edited on Sat Dec-04-10 03:05 PM by pokerfan
is the best! Broke out some new material on Leno...

On jobs: "I think a lot of people don't like their job. Like you go to a coffee place and the kid look at you like, 'ughhh.' I'm like, I didn't come to your house to ask you for coffee. It's a coffee place. You clothes match the building. I had a right to expect coffee. And you're closer to the coffee machine... Twenty-years-olds are like, this job sucks. We know, that's why we gave it to you."

On child-rearing: "My kids are great. They're two little white girls in America. I gave my daughter medicine the other day. It's bubble gum flavored medicine. She's got a fever, Tylenol, bubble gum flavored. She goes, 'ewwww...' I'm like, Fuck you, 'ewwww...' You can't say, 'ewwww.' I'm sorry, it's medicine! Most children don't have medicine. Most children in the world, they get sick, they die on a rock with a bear eating them... You're a little white girl in America. You don't get to say 'ewwww' about your bubble gum medicine."

On slavery: "Every year white people add a hundred years to how long ago slavery was. I've heard educated white people say, 'slavery was four hundred years ago.' No, it very wasn't. It was 140 years ago. That's two seventy year old ladies living and dying back to back. That's how recently you could buy a guy. And it's not like slavery ended and everything's been amazing."

Please tell me it's coming back for another season.

9. He's one of those few comics that I can listen to the same show over and over
and laugh just as much each time. Wanda Sykes is the only other one in that category for me. Well, besides, obvisouly George Carlin.

10. Louis C. K., I think, may be the guy who fills the void Carlin left
in terms of critically assessing our culture and expressing it through comedy.

11. I was thinking the same thing
Louis CK's eulogy to George Carlin:
I loved George since I was a kid. I first used to hear him on a radio show called "Doctor Demento" which I listened to religiously and always featured lots of Carlin clips. As soon as I had my own money I bought a cassette tape of a Carlin album (I don't remember which one) and I wore it out.

Jesus, he was just so good. To me, the timeless titans of comedy have always been George Carlin, Bill Cosby and Richard Pryor. But George was more than funny to me.

15. Time to hit your local video store
He's got three 1 hour videos/cds: Shameless (2007), Chewed Up (2008), Hilarious (2010). They're all good.
