These new hearing aids are something else
They are top of the line starkys that I got through the hear-now program. Of course I can hear better with them, but what is really wild is the directional sound. These hearing aids turned my world into "surround sound" and it's going to take some getting used to!

Jason was across the room and when he talked it sounded like he was standing right next to me.

The only complaint I have is using hearing aids with phones. If you want to get rich, invent a way for hearing aids to be more compatible with phones. I have turned on all the "hearing aid mode" buttons on any phone I ever had,and it just doesn't work. I have to take out my hearing aid to answer the phone.

Anyway, I am very pleased. :-)

2. How wonderful, my dear Roon!
I'm really happy that your world is opening up so beautifully!

I'm sorry about the phone, but hey...I guess there always has to be a fly in the ointment...

Enjoy!

:D

3. Try using the speaker phone function
rather than putting it up to your ear.

4. Ah! I am going to try that!
I see on all the reality shows on MTV that the kids use speakerphone a LOT for the camera. It seems to work pretty good!

6. How do I get my father to actually try them?
Edited on Tue Nov-16-10 11:56 AM by gmoney
He probably wouldn't qualify for "Hear Now" but he certainly needs some help hearing. I think he's missing out on a lot of things, and it can even be a safety issue, but he just refuses.

How much does a set of good hearing aids cost? Is it covered by Medicaid?
