Seriously; I design products for the mouse all the time and we would never let something like that slip by! Methinks several someones looked the other way on purpose...

7. Terrible design for sure.

My guess is, the straw was supposed to be on either side, or the back of the figure, not the front. With the Buzz figure and base in two parts, the producers should have designed it so the base and figure to "lock" into place. That way the factory couldn't get the assembly wrong.
