4. Of the songs you listed, I chose "Sir Duke."
Edited on Sun Mar-28-04 12:58 AM by NightTrain
Personal favorites that didn't make your poll include "Uptight," "For Once In My Life," "Heaven Help Us All," "You Haven't Done Nothin'," and his very first hit, "Fingertips," among many others.

14. Is that not the greatest album ever recorded?
Or is that hyperbole?

16. Ribbon In The Sky
or "As".

Then again, there are so many, it's hard to pick just one, isn't it?

17. Not a Stevie Wonder song per se,
but his remake of the Beatles' "We Can Work It Out" kicks MEGA ass.

19. I Believe When I Fall In Love ...
... this time it will be forever."

I think that's the name of it.

Art Garfunkel covered it on Breakaway, and that version is nearly as good.

20. Superstition is my favorite...
It's a little darker and harder-edged than most of Stevie's songs.

because it's so damn SWEET! And it's got a catchy tune, too.

25. Wow! Tough Choice
I voted 'other' because its a toss up between a few:

Golden Lady
Summer Soft
Signed, Sealed, Delivered
For Once in my Life
Overjoyed

Jeez, I could just go on and on. And to answer a previous poster's question, YES, I do think 'Songs in the Key of Life' is one of the best albums ever recorded. I would say the same of 'Inner Visions' too, though.

26. On my radio show last night, I played "We Can Work It Out."
One of the greatest Beatles covers EVER!!! And Paul McCartney himself said the same thing in a TV interview circa 1974.

28. Way back in the mid-60s when the Motown Revue toured the UK ...
I heard Stevie (still "Little Stevie" in those days) and Clarence Paul, live, duet on "Funny How Time Slips Away" - the best version I've ever heard of one of my favourite songs. There was a live recording on an album but it wasn't a patch on the real thing.

That's the best thing the Wonder Boy ever did, for my money.

29. A shout-out to Saginaw's favorite son
I voted for "Superstition." It's really hard to say what the best Stevie Wonder song is, but that's my favorite.
John
There's a serious push on here in Saginaw to rename a street after Stevie and possibly even erect a statue of him somewhere prominent. I would nominate renaming Johnson Street, which runs past the Civic Center downtown (Stevie played a charity concert for St. Mary's Hospital, where he was born, there) and Johnson continues east through his old neighborhood. Plus, the Civic Center would be a logical place for the statue.
It takes forever for this town to get anything done, but I think this is going to get done.
