Review of a rather interesting Saturday lunch
OK, first some background info. I'm a lazy, almost past middle-aged divorced male, whose daughters have long ago left the nest. I kept house somewhat when I was one of them single dads, but it was a faux domesticity. After the girls left, I decided I hated cleaning, shopping, and especially cooking. I don't even like microwaving food. So I take shortcuts.

Anyway, I didn't go shopping this week. I still have some food left. I have some ketchup, cat food, and beer in the fridge, along with some inedible cheese. Here's what was in the cupboard:

Prunes and triscuits.

So my lunch was prunes and triscuits and beer. I rarely drink beer or eat prunes.

Here's my review of the lunch: DON'T EVER HAVE TRISCUITS, PRUNES, AND BEER TOGETHER. Never, ever. Don't do it.

Thank you.

1. Ahh...words of wisdom, my friend.
It is a sacrifice of which I cannot even conceive, much less for which I would volunteer. You are a very brave (or dangerous) man.

2. Thanks for the props!
Right now I am a dangerous man. A brave man would have just gone shopping. I couldn't face up to the challenge.

3. You should try peanut butter and mayonnaise sandwiches
I stumbled upon this culinary delight when my cupboards were almost bare while I was unemployed. Had them every day for about six months after that. Very cheap, very easy to make, and suprisingly palatable.

4. I'll have to try that!
(Without prunes, of course)

I threw the mayonnaise out a few weeks ago when it started getting tingley.
