Someday I want a job where I do not have to work with anyone else.
Whoever said hell is other people must have worked with my coworkers, at least one in particular. I finally was rid of the worst one last fall but it seems another has stepped in to fill the vacuum.

I just feel like I shouldn't make any decisions, because all he does is criticize them, whatever they are. I can't win, so I might as well just wait for everyone to tell me what to do. They certainly don't want to hear my opinion at all.

5. Me too.
I've been a 'boss' of one type or another for 35 years and I hate it. I retire in 3 years and will start a new career not being a boss of other people, just of a tractor, chickens, dogs, cats and gardens.

11. Oh I boss them around all right. It's just so much more pleasant...
to take their go to hell attitude than the same from humans. Now chickens, you can boss. Pick up and squeeze out an egg or else.!

12. If you can just get the right team...
...it can make all the difference. And I'm not being Pollyanna about this; I'm a total introvert, need to decompress on my own when I get home from work, and have had my share of bad coworkers and/or supervisors. And when I first heard the quotation "Hell is other people," I wholeheartedly agreeed.

But there are times when you can draw a good team together, and that makes an amazing difference (Believe me, I've had several chances to test this). I hope you find your best partner and/or team.

14. I know what you mean.....
At work I sit next to someone who has long phone conversations frequently employing baby-talk. My immediate supervisor has the vanity and narcissism of a 15-year-old, and about as much job skills. My boss is moments from a nervous breakdown due to health/drug/addiction issues and family deaths. Her solution to her crisis state is to run off this weekend and marry her third loser husband in Reno.

Work sucks.

15. I've more or less worked alone for the last 10 years - and I hate it
It can burn you out, not being around other people, not having the camaraderie of other people. I'm still around people, but I travel to their offices, see them for a couple hours, and then leave until next year.

Having the independence and autonomy is nice at first, but after a while, you crave human interaction.
