Oh, what's with this "yellow" nonsense?
I found my first grey hair when I was 18. It didn't bother me because Rutger Hauer looks so cool in Blade Runner...and of course, I am now mostly grey.

What no one told me is that when you let grey hair grow long, when you get to a certain age, it begins to yellow out. WTF? Now I -like- my grey and am fighting to keep it! Change is constant, indeed.

1. There's a reason why blue rinses exist. I noticed, though, that the yellow came first on my
mom as her reddish chestnut hair went grey, then the nice silvery color came after that.

2. I've been waiting for that beautiful silver gray hair for years now!
I first saw gray at 25; 30 years later it's still at the transition stage. WTF?? I would love to let my hair go au natural, but it really looks like crap unless I dye it. Well, it took me awhile to get thru perimenopause, I guess I just hang on to things a little too long!!!

3. Hubband's isn't yellow.
He's 56 and has silver hair down to his waist. No yellow.

4. My hair (still down to my shoulders +)...
.
...turned this pretty ugly shade of yellow for quite a while --
it looked like I was using earwax as product -- but it's turning
a pretty cool silver/white now.

5. There is a shampoo made with cornflower essence
to counteract the yellowing, and it won't leave your hair looking purple, like some of the rinses do.

I noticed the first grey hair in my mid-fifties; there are a few more here and there now, and I think it looks pretty since I have really dark brown hair. I don't think I'll ever have a head full of that beautiful silver hair, since when Grandma died she still had black hair, and Mom, now age 80, only has a few grey strands amid the black.

6. So that's what that stupid Coldplay song is about?
Although ironically enough, it's their least stupid song, because it's about the only thing they did that wasn't a third rate U2 ripoff.
