We just got a brand new computer and as long as the wind isn't blowing too hard or "static" or "Squirrels" or there is no problem with the "main line" or any of the miriad of excuses that Comcast has given us over the last few months don't occur again I can enjoy DU again.
Jesus does Comcast suck in ways that are beyond comprehension.
I called up my cable company once because every time it rained I lost the signal. The answer I got was that "If it's raining hard the dishes fill up with water and block the signal"
My response was that #1 the dishes are at about a 30° angle-not vertical and most of them are made of wire-mesh and won't hold water. #2 I was watching a local station-which was coming in just fine on UHF without even an antenna connected. #3 The problem is that you're too cheap to use waterproof connections on the poles #4 I had 20 years experience in electronics at the time and I recognize BS when I hear it.
It was 10:00 AM so that means other people in the neighborhood were up and on line
the problem is clearly bandwidth not any of the other crap they have been spewing
oh and I have NEVER run into call center people who just talk and talk and talk like Comcast. This is conversational blather not anything to do with actually processing calls.
but we haven't yet because I was able to bleed two months worth of credit out of Comcast AND I am going to wear their maintenance budget OUT while I can
14. We got Fios a couple of years ago. It is great and there have been no
problems. We had comcast, and completely lost internet and could not receive HD from them either (through their box). It was crap. It appears to have been the main wiring in the neighborhood. They finally replaced that last year, but we had already dumped them by then.
the last tech who was out here let me keep it. Nice guy but I really wouldn't be surprised if he just stripped out an old piece he had in the back of his truck.
13. Oddly, we had major issues with DSL at our house, while Comcast
has been smooth sailing - it's only been out twice in about 18 months now, where it was almost weekly where we had to call AT&T about our DSL being out.
