13. Not that it's probably any consolation, but lots of others are too
It's a day perfectly designed to make those who are alone (and not by choice,) feel miserable. Easier said than done ( and believe me, I know) but don't let it get to you. I'm gonna absolutely refuse to let it get to me. ABSOLUTELY...REFUSE...

8. Flying to New Zealand to start my new life.
Quite cool that it's also Chinese New Year.

And I've always had a sneaking suspicion that I would find true love on an airplane, so why not throw that in too?

11. buying my wife chocolate and going out to lunch
ok, I know dinner is more "romantic" - but my wife is about the least romantic person on the planet, and we'll probably do the lunch buffet at our favorite restaurant - Indian food.

The buffet is absurdly cheap, and the food is great - and they're not afraid of making it spicy...unlike most buffets (including the one that got "Best Indian Buffet" in some local publication recently - most boring, bland Indian food imaginable, IMO).

15. startin' somethin' - maybe
Edited on Wed Feb-10-10 10:27 PM by velvet
So I got a hemail from a feller asking "What are you doing on Valentine's Day, want to start a fire in the rain?" I might, if I can find some waterproof matches.

If it doesn't rain I guess I'll stay home and mow the lawn. (No, that's not a metaphor.)

Not sure if I have the day off or not yet. If so, possibly something better than lunch will happen.

18. My valentine's present comes on February 25th.
We're going to see Billy Joel and Elton John in concert. OKC. Ford Center.

Because I'm a piano player and have been wanting to see these two for a couple of decades.
