some vibes for my kiddo please? 22 and getting her gall bladder out
tomorrow. i was fine till i started reading the john murtha stories.
she should be a piece of cake- healthy kid with not an ounce of fat on her. it has been bubbling for a while now as she went from insured to uninsured to insured again. but it still shouldn't be too much trouble.
so, tomorrow is the day. i need to get to bed so i can be there, out in the burbs at 9 am. nice of them to move it back from 8.
i just wish she was coming home for a few days. but she swears the boyfriend will take good care of her. he better.
hope they have wifi in the waiting room.

1. Best wishes to both of you - I'm sure she'll be fine
As sad as the Murtha thing is, I would tend to think of it as reassurance - you just know that every gall bladder surgeon in the country is thinking hard about their technique.

Kind of like flying after a crash, when every pilot and mechanic is on their toes triple-checking everything in sight. (At least, I assume they are. If that's not the case then nobody tell me otherwise...)

Good luck!

2. Good vibes for you and your daughter.
I hope everything goes well...she's probably been feeling pretty lousy for awhile, so this surgery should help her to feel better soon.

:)

Just tell her to really take it easy the first few days and take all the pain meds prescribed.

Sending you healing thoughts and prayers your way!

6. Good thoughts to you and your daughter...
I had mine taken out when I was 28. It was a couple of hours and went home the same day. I laid in bed for about a week and I went back to work in 2. My quality of life has increased exponentially since the surgery. I wish her a speedy recovery.

7. I was 23 when I had my gallbladder removed...
Also thin and I still had to have the actual surgery. Now they, also, do the Laparoscopic surgery.
She'll be fine this surgery is routine these days.

p.s. they might give her the stones if she wants them...

11. My kid had his out when he was about 25.
He was on a date with the woman who is now his fiance. They had been dating for less than a month when he got so sick he thought he was having a heart attack. She took him to the emergency room.

At least she stayed with him. She is one of the best things that ever happened to him.

The surgery was simple and everything went well for him. He was home quickly. I think your daughter will have an easy time, too. Ah, the young!

My son did have quite a bit of pain. He called me at 3:00 a.m. and asked me when the vicodin (I think that is what it was) would start working. I told him that pain pills usually just took the edge off so people could function, and to PLEASE not take more than recommended.

I went to clean his house the next day. He was so crabby it was almost comical. He is usually an even tempered guy. My daughter went to help him a few days later. He was still crabby because of the pain.

I guess you know about that. Pain changes how people behave. I am sure you will understand if your kid is hard to get along with for a few days. Good luck to her. Keep us posted.

12. Best of vibes for your baby.
I had my gallbladder out and other than hurting like I was shot in the belly button for about a week, I had no complications. I hope she has it easier than I did with the pain and no complications whatsoever.

14. Had mine out at 65. No BFD
Knocked out at 10 am, back home by 3:30 pm, checking email. A little discomfort and a bit tired post op, took Advil and naps. Back to harassing peasants and annoying the gentry within a couple of days.
Lap surgery makes the procedure a breeze.

Re Congressman Murtha. First he was 77. We don't know what other medical problems he may have had. Also, always turn on the crap detector when dealing with the MSM. We all have stories about how it got the facts wrong.

99.9999999% chance your kiddo will be fine. Far better odds than driving the freeway.

25. I'm glad she is doing well. General Anesthesia has
gotten alot better, IMO over the last decade. I had GA a few years ago and for the first time ever, didn't barf afterwards or have a month of sleep disorders.

I hope your daughter doesn't have any more issues with her health.

26. hey, one more kick to say
that she is recovering very, very well. i talked to her this morning, and her voice was just like any other day. brighter, even, since she has had so much trouble and pain with this stuff.
we both thank you all for the good vibes. i am sure they added to the great outcome.
