thinking of moving need a job running out of retirement funds

anyone know where in the world some old 52 yr old lady can get a decent job? besides India? If we sell the house and land I own I can put that back into our retirement funds, and maybe we will be okay. Kind of worried now that we may end up in a box if the expenses keep up for us, and with all the hateful people where we live, we need to move somewhere where we wont be so hassled and hated as anti war activists. Its too stressful for us. Got any ideas? Im quite bright, and can read and write, and have 6 years of liberal arts that I studied willy nilly in my idiot youth, but I cant seem to find anything where I am except McDonalds.

1. have you checked with the older worker programs?

....some areas have a back to work program for older people who've been outta the job market for awhile....good luck Mari...sure hate what you've been goin' thru!! :pals:

2. Move to the yucatan in mexico. You can live on less than $1000 a month

and have a little book store or coffee shop in the tropics surrounded by lovely people rich in culture in a genuinely european community... in playa del carmen.

3. There's a thought

Get the hell out of this basket case of a country. If, like me you can't though, I'd find the most liberal part of the country I could to live in. I don't reccomend mysery though, I've heard the northwest is pretty nice, I wouldn't know about the job market up there.
I think the southwest is being over run by retired reptiles with money, New Mexico used to be great, but, I believe it's been taken over.
The south, personally I wouldn't go there, maybe Minnesota, that's not too far removed from where you are now. Have you looked at An Arbour?, maybe some sub down there.

5. no jobs but

...south Louisiana has some nice areas that are very inexpensive. I'm a bit hesitant to suggest it though, because the traffic is already terrible. Hmm. No state tax in Texas, maybe there are cheap places left in Texas. I don't know anyone who is hiring above age 45 for a "real" job because of the high cost of providing older workers with health insurance. It could be your only option is to leave the U.S. and forget about working, just go somewhere your dollar will last, like Mexico. I'm thinking about doing it myself.

7. If you have 60 hours...

You can substitute teach in Missouri - regardless of what they are in. Subbing isn't bad money - my daughter in law does it. She can go online to the school she works for and see what days subs will be needed and sign up for them in advance. She also gets the daily sick calls sometimes too.

St. Louis is very Democratic and there are surrounding areas that are very affordable.
