I was talking to my 14-year-old cousin tonight about babysitting
Did you know that some kids are getting 8 bucks an hour? If I had a car I would jump that racket in a heartbeat! I got a dollar an hour when I was a kid. Not a penny more!

3. My parents paid $5/hr, almost 20 years ago.
There were extenuating circumstances though. We were evil children of above-average intelligence. It was more bribery than anything.

That's like the babysitter in the Calvin and Hobbes comic strip! The sitter would always shake the parents down because Calvin was very smart and had a lot of energy.

and I was okay with that
