3. Nothing yet. I'll probably clean out a drawer in
my filing cabinet. Lots of stuff to be run through the shredder. The trick is figuring out something to distract myself from the boredom.

The White Tornado is a reference to an old Ajax household cleanser commercial. The commercial portrayed the product as a white tornado ripping through the house to leave everything sparkling. That is my today's task. :(

up for over 20 minutes. If you did 3-4 miles in that amount of time, I think that would be plenty impressive for the average human.

I've been knee boarding and tubing behind a boat, but only seen skiing a few times. Probably the shallow waters make it not so doable...to get deep you have to go pretty far offshore and then you're in some rougher water.

to get runners high.

However, when I raced 5Ks I got a runners high a couple times.

But the only other times I've gotten it is during marathons.

It was easier to run when I was a 17-year-old smoker than it was running and being a non-smoker at 40.

Because of limited time, I pushed myself harder than normal, along with curtailed sleep (compounded by nocturnal Ramadan activities going on outside). I'm surprised I didn't catch a cold which usually happens after severe knackeredness.

34. Well, among other things, that dismantled nuclear weapons - who can object to that? -
can contain significant amounts of salts. I'm not quite sure why that it is. It may involve a dissolution process. Most nuclear weapons plutonium is an alloy with gallium, to prevent phase issues.

Also I learned that these salts, under certain circumstances, can generate hydrogen chloride gas.

I sort of knew that, but didn't think about it all that much so it was a nice reminder.

Well, you asked...

39. It depends on the context. If one is trying to store plutonium for a long time, yes.
I personally favor fissioning plutonium. Under certain circumstances, therefore, the answer is no, but it's somewhat complicated to explain.

...I have:

Drafted an answer with 11 affirmative defenses to a complaint for money,

Folded two loads of laundry ~~ hung to dry yesterday,

Loaded and emptied the dishwasher,

Fed the dog a gor-mut breakfast ~~ baked chicken and steamed rice with fresh carrots,

Emptied the trash and watered my tomato plant,

Picked up the house and made the bed,

Talked to my best guy pal on the phone,

Had four cups of coffee and a piece of cinnamon toast,

And gave the finger to the bitch that lives next door.

Yawn....time for a nap....:hi:

75. Got up, made coffee, sat around talking to my daughter and granddaughter.
Made us some breakfast, then granddaughter and I put up some decorations for Halloween.

I got a couple loads of laundry done last night.

Now I'm debating, do I go upstairs and work in my closet or do I vac the never ending dog & cat hair? Maybe I'll just sit around and read DU.

78. "accomplishing things" is for the week.
Today my accomplishments have included waking up, sitting in bed for the next two hours and reading.

I have washed a bunch of dishes that we left from last night.

83. This morning my car keys disappeared. I looked for them for quite awhile
and finally had to use the spare ones so I could run errands. When I came back I looked some more. And looked. And looked. I dug at least three times into a bag of trash I was about to take out, looked in the garage, looked in the garden, dumped out the contents of my purse and a couple of tote bags, checked all my pockets, sorted out and threw away a whole pile of stuff where they could have disappeared, and once again rummaged in the trash bag. And there they were. I have now idea how they wound up there, but I suspect that cats were somehow involved.

My day is now complete and I can relax.

And now I'm stoned. Pretty good day so far. Later I'll make some stakes for friends and family and then I'm going to see the new Michael Moore movie.

86. Hmm ...
Fed cats, read paper, worked out (at home), cleaned up the kitchen, made my kids and myself breakfast & lunch, helped son w/ math homework he's redoing, picked up daughter & friend from play rehearsal, now I'm doing a little desk work (well, not this second 'cuz I'm on DU) and going to throw a load of laundry in, then have to take daughter to pick out a present for her friend's b-day, etc. etc. We are having drinks w/ friends later, so there IS a cocktail or two looming in my future.

93. well, on Saturday I got up early, drove to a volunteer event and found out
Edited on Sun Oct-04-09 05:20 PM by tigereye
it was the wrong day - whoops! and then went to my tai chi class. Then I had a late Thai lunch out with the husband. Next a nap and a few loads of laundry and some other housework.

Then today (Sunday) I did more laundry and put a bunch of it away, swept the basement, took a walk with the husband, planted a bunch of fall bulbs and weeded some, and now it's time to cook dinner. Usually I work too and then go grocery shopping, but I didn't have any appointments today. (yay!)

99. I had a nice refreshing Saturday morning...
I started my engine at 3am and pulled 43,000 pounds of salad oil from Little Rock, Arkansas, to New Braunfels, Texas. When I got to my destination (a Sams Club distribution center) I exchanged my trailer for an empty one and parked for what I thought was going to be twelve hours.

This morning, it was raining its ass off in New Braunfels, so my satellite communications weren't working. I had to drive the truck to a different truck stop to get a clear shot at the satellite. (For some reason my Qualcomm does that shit...once I was completely off the air for five hours until I got disgusted and pulled the truck forward two feet.) I got another load: go to San Antonio today, pick up 44,000 pounds of scrap aluminum and haul it to Berea, Kentucky. I've supposedly got three days to do it, but it will only take two. I've got three choices for routes: go back up through Dallas, cut across I-30 and head north from there; go to Dallas then go east on I-20; or run down I-10 into Louisiana and go north from there. I haven't been down I-10 in about a month, I-35's boring as shit (although if I DO go that way I can write down the exit Willie Nelson's truck stop--yes, he has one--is at) and I promised my wife I was going to try to pick up a can of LSU Tiger Dust for my parents because it's sugar-free...so I-10 it is. I was actually TRYING to get the load today, but the shipping clerk isn't there. Strangely enough, the shipping clerk is the only person in the whole shipper's company who's off today.

100. Considering I went to sleep at 7:30 and slept until 2:30,
nothing this morning ;)

This evening I answered an email from my gf that I'd been putting off since Friday night because I really didn't want to answer it.
Things are a bit strained at the moment.

Now I'm wiped out! :P
