Austin DUers...protests this weekend

This has been posted over in the Activism forum but I wanted to mention it here to see who all was planning on attending the rally in Austin Saturday morning and the protest in Crawford Saturday afternoon.

Thought we might want to coordinate a bit if very many folks are making the trek to Crawford.

What are the demands for this rally again? I'm not sure we can really blame Iraq on the APD, to say nothing of Palestine.

And yes...yes we do have the most trigger-happy police force in the country. It's scary that I'm less worried about protesting in Crawford than I am about the part here in Austin.

I caught a free day party yesterday and heard this band called The Sleepy Jackson. They were quite good.

Division of Lauralee, Preston School of Industry, Modest Mouse and Mission of Burma were all really good.

I've heard some real shit, too. But not much - mostly while waiting for something good...

this woman from Australia started talking to Matt and I last night. She's REALLY into this band called Calexico. They're playing tonight at Antone's. I was considering going anyway, but now I'm DEFINITELY making an appearance! :7
