2. That's really really nasty.

I had one of those in the Hudson River back in January. My roommate and I were standing on the pier smoking when I looked down and bobbing in the water is this rear-half a mangled hairless bloated thing mostly submerged. So we went inside and asked the concierge to call the police non-emergency number and report it because while it looked like it was half a dead deer, neither one of us wanted to vouch that it wasn't human.

They had to close two blocks of the Yonkers riverfront and send the ME out to fish it out of the river, it turned out to be a coyote.
