Facebook Spat

I got tired of seeing political spam on my Facebook home page - posted there by a friend who has nutty views about a lot of things. Now she's going on about Obama taking over the country and putting Grandma to death, etc. I told her that she'd have to stop annoying me with this stuff or I'd delete the connection. She ignored me, so that's just what I did.

The arguments against health care reform are dishonest. I don't want to risk friendships over politics, but I expect friends of mine not to deliberately seek out the low road. I wish Facebook allowed for "time outs" so that bad-mannered people can get a grip. However, it's not worth it to me to maintain a Facebook connection with someone who uses the nutso talking points that the right wing favors.

Ironically, this woman lives on Social Security disability, and I'm the one who takes her to the Welfare office. Despite her dependency, she thinks "government run health care" will be the end of what's good about America. We don't need Obama-care, she says. There's too much fraud already.
