1. Speed? Really?
I do agree that Unbreakable is a largely underrated film. Everyone wanted The Sixth Sense Part II and were pissed that they got something different.

18. Tarantino is allowed to like trash, too.
And when Quentin Tarantino goes for trash, he aims low.

2. Unbreakable was horrible - proof that 'The Sixth Sense' was a fluke
I wasn't even keen on 'The Sixth Sense'

Just a minor clarification. It also happens to
be the best play/film since The Iceman Cometh IMO

4. Joint Security Area is really excellent
Not surprised that he enjoyed Battle Royale (and he picked the best actress from it for a small part in Kill Bill).

6. I've only seen three of those: Speed, Unbreakable and Lost in Translation
I wouldn't put any of them on a "best" list. Lost in Translation would be the closest.

7. The Host is one of the most overrated horror movies in years.
And I love monster movies, and have a lot of patience with them and can forgive a lot. But The Host was just dumb.

Great to see Supercop on there. I love that movie! Including the title song by Mark Mothersbaugh during the credits.

Battle Royale was actually really good. I wasn't sure I would like it because the book was fantastic, but the movie pulled it off, mostly.

America! Fuck Yeah!

Tarantino makes great movies but his taste in movies sucks.

11. The only thing I disagree with is letting Tarantino make the list
What narrow range of movie genres. Battle Royale, Boogie Nights, Shaun of the Dead.... I don't think Quinton Tarantino knows the differences between "best" and "cute."

13. Battle Royale was overrated schlock.
Kids killing each other to teach a lesson about conformity!

...No thanks.

But it was on TV the other night, and I found it to be actually pretty interesting, I'd like to see it again.

horror.

20. He's an interesting director
He seems to like defying genres. "The Happiness of the Katakuris" is... really hard to describe. If you like deliberately cheesy musical numbers, dancing zombies (who doesn't?), unexpected claymation scenes, and dark humour, this is the film for you.

Lost In Translation was a bore. Could never understand what was so great about it.
