VH-1 classics censors music videos.
Seen it twice now!

They censored the word "shit" out of the ZZ Top song "Legs," and now they censored the word "faggot" out of Dire Straights' "Money For Nothing."

Anyone else see this on MTV or VH-1?

1. Well, back in my ignorant days I had a rant about the f-word in that song...
It was pointed out to be, by a non-hetero, the song is being sung from the perspective of the worker who is seeing what's on television.

Far worse commentary, with the perspective of the thug singing it rather than the context of a fictional entity, is still retained in today's so-called "music".

2. They cut the whole verse out of the Dire Straits song.
You almost never hear the original full version anywhere anymore. And after years and years of letting it go they now cut "bullshit" out of Pink Floyd's "Money", the word "shit" from Steve Miller's "Jet Airliner" and the word "shit" out of Alice In Chains' "Man in the Box".

It's beyond stupid.

3. Life in the Fast Lane seems to be intact though
I heard it recently and it still had, "we've been up and down this highway, haven't seen a goddamn thing"

4. I don't think "goddamn" is considered profanity.
It's not on the 7 deadly words list. The "fuck" in "Who are you?" is another one that's gone.
