Good friends
I just wanted to start a thread about good friends....maybe we can all share a story.

I called my best buddy 2 days ago to see if he knew of a landscaper that could come and cut my grass for the next month or so, while my fiance recovers from his hospital stay. I don't want him out in 110 degree heat doing yardwork. I called Dave cause he's a real estate agent and I thought he'd know someone.

When I got home from work yesterday my lawn was cut. I called Dave....he wants no money or thanks or anything. "It's just something you do for friends."

I was floored.

1. Thanks for sharing that.
I'm lucky enough to have two good friends like that. My sister, and my best friend.

No stories to tell... you'll just have to take my word for it. :hi:

4. My best friend has been my best friend for 44 years
We met the first day of kindergarten and went straight through college together. I've known her longer than I've known my brother, who was born five years later. She lives in Florida and I live in Michigan but when we see each other it's as though we live next door. No secrets, no pretenses, we know each other as well as we know ourselves. And we have A BLAST together.

Our mothers are best friends, our older sisters are close friends, our fathers worked together, our little brothers are good friends, and our grandmothers lived in the same town. We're like family.

I'm very lucky.

6. That's awesome.
I have a hard time staying in touch with friends that have moved on. I should try harder I guess.

5. That's wonderful, Amy.
Nothing like a friend who will pitch in like that in a time of need. Sending healing vibes your way for your fiance'. :hi:

I think it's so much harder to watch someone we love hurt than it is to bear that pain ourselves.

And welcome to DU, BTW. Where abouts are you located?

10. I met my best friend in 5th grade. She lives 5.5 hours from me.
I have no one close here where I live. I miss having friends to do things with. My husband is my 'best' friend. We only have each other.

:hi:
and welcome to DU
Your friend Dave is a keeper for sure. What a kind thing for him to do. I hope your fiance gets better soon.

13. A good friend will talk with you late at night...
when nobody else can stand to listen to your worries. And make you feel a little less misunderstood.
