5. I won't get arrested if I lock them in the basement for a couple of hours if they're annoying me
:)

Also, I feed them and we like each others' company. My cat and dog always know when I am having a bad day, and are extra lovey.

FWIW, I don't think people on the whole are inherently hard to love though, although some of them are nearly impossible.

6. They are cuter and nicer than people. They have simple agendas: love, food, water & sleep spot
Maybe some playing.

Fur is adorable. Except on people:

7. They don't have a judgmental bone in their bodies.
And they don't walk in one day and say "Dad, I wanna go to Harvard."

9. Twain said it well.
"If you pick up a starving dog and make him prosperous, he will not bite you. This is the principal difference between a dog and a man."

Or something like that.

10. because I could close a window on my cat's paw and he'll still cuddle with me afterwards
Mind you, I didn't purposively do that, he just happen to jump up on the windowsill as I was closing the window. I was bawling because that happened to him but 5 minutes later he jumped on the chair and into my lap and started purring "It's ok - you're a klutz but I forgive you anyways"

11. They're so forgiving aren't they?
I stepped on grandkitty's paw the other day. After the near heart attack from that scream and having to go find out where he ran so I could check for damage, he did a little somersault, showed me his belly and began to purr and rub on my hand. The little kitty kisses that followed let me know he forgave me.

13. My dog loves it when I accidently injure her, because she knows
she gets a treat!

It's gotten to the point where she runs over to the "cookie jar" after I accidently step on her foot or something.

Next thing, she'll be trying to get hurt on purpose!

:-)

16. Inability to speak.
My cats are the only living creatures in my home that don't disagree with me, make different plans from mine or point out the pooch (non-furry variety) in my stummy.

17. Reminds me of a funny story I heard somewhere
(can't remember the source, sorry!)

A woman was pregnant with her second child, and her 3 year old daughter asked her, "Mommy, why are you so fat?"

"Sweetie, we talked about this. Remember, I have a baby growing in my belly!"

"Yeah, but what is growing in your BUTT?"
