Please help me identify this song.
It was from the '90s, I think. It consisted, at times, of two women singing in counterpoint to one another and was kind of a slow tempo pop/rock song with killer hooks and an overall sound similar to "Take on Me".

I know this isn't much to go on. Make some suggestions and post a youtube link or some such so I can check.

Thank you,

Thin Guy

4. thanks for the replies, so far.
The song has a similar sound to "Take on Me" or at least a similar mood.
It is not "Don't You Want Me" although that is a decent guess. It is not that spacey or that poppy. It is more like a modernistic grrl-power goes soft for a single song duet. Or, perhaps, if this is a terrible hoax being played on me - it is the spice girls. And if it is, it is by far the best song they ever did. Maybe the song is a bit more recent than that.

It has a similar sound to "Landslide" by S. Nicks or one of its covers. Except it has a better hook.

Thanks.

Thin Guy

7. "2 Become 1" was the best song the Spice Girls ever did
So if it's not that.....

You must know some lyrics, no? Even one line would likely do the trick. there are enough lyrical search engines out there.

5. A gratuitous bump and a backtrack before bed
Hi,

Making a comparison to an eighties song was probably a bad move. Forget about that.

I must be out of my mind. I should have listened to the thing for a minute so I could describe it better. It was on a TV show, but, it was definitely a bona fide release at one time in the last umpteen years.

Two women singing and it was awesome. That ought'a be enough. If you know the song, you will know... the... song... I'm tired.

This is like that time when Al Bundy only knew "Go with him..." and obsessed over it for the entire episode of "Married... With Children"

Good night.

Thin Guy.

19. It was very much OF that time - seemed like it was played
every half hour for a few months, then dropped off completely...

I think it was their only hit, too.

15. How about this?
not sure that this has been on a television show but it was sung by the cast of The Office during an episode once.

Has kind of the feel you are talking about, and lots of counterpoint.

20. "Stay with me"?
It was an obscure song in the 90's that got some MTV play because of the sonf by the same artist, "I Kissed a Girl". The two women are actually one...she is singing both parts. HTH
