I'm always embarrassed when I respond seriously to lounge nonsense that I didn't get.

A roux is flour lightly sauteed in fat, often butter. After cooking, it absorbs liquid and thickens to a nice sauce/gravy consistency. It's the basis for many great sauces, including bechamel and bearnaise.


So. go ahead, kick my props out now....
