At the risk of sounding judgmental, I just don't like men who rape children.

I know I'm painting with a broad brush, but I have to be honest. When I learn that someone is a child molester, it really colors my whole view of him.

And it is always men. The only time I see women with these kind of charges is when they are complicit in a primary offense committed by a man.

The one I like the least at this moment is the guy I am prosecuting at this moment. Where do these monsters come from?

I remember a couple of years back when matcom was on a grand jury for some real monster in MA and he told me the details afterwards. It was horrible. I don't know how he could sit through it without killing the guy himself.

The people who they hurt; the emotions - like it or not - last a lifetime.


There are certain crimes that society should not commit once done. Child molestation is one of them.

I have seen billboards, albeit rarely, with a 1-800 number for a potential molester to call. I'm all in favor of stopping a crime before it happens, and for that I am tolerant and supportive of working with people.

But once such a crime, of that nature, is committed, I say "Electrocute the bastard; slowly and painfully until he smells like burnt ham."

If my childhood hadn't been so badly warped, I do ask myself if I'd be less harsh.

Maybe it's because I'm still scarred and cannot think of other perceptions.

I don't need to do something to be able to empathize. "Don't knock it until you try it" is a very feeble excuse, for most situations.

4. What really makes me sick are the excuses from his relatives.

Especially the religious appeals, "He's a good Christian." Yeah, aren't they all!
