Mr. Spock shot my friends!!
Leonard Nimoy is working on a photography project called "Who do you think you are"? where he photographs people as their "secrets selves". He asked two of my friends and fellow illustrators, Rebecca Guay and Scott Fischer, to pose for him:

Both Rebecca and Scott are not-so-closeted geeks, so they were thrilled to be shot by Spock!

1. That's awesome!
I once knew a guy who'd served Nimoy several drinks while managing a bar/restaurant in California, but somehow your story is better.

Nimoy looks to be in terrific shape, by the way. Living long and prospering, as it were.

2. He does! I don't know how old he is now, but I think that the key to his
youthfulness is exactly what he's doing there; staying engaged, being creative and doing what he loves. When people retire and just focus on cutting their lawn and sitting around in God's waiting room they age pretty quickly. I remember a coworker of mine at Disney named Grim Natwick. He started with the company at age 40, on Snow White! He didn't retire until close to his 100th birthday, and he was a great animator all the way through. As my mother always says "The more you do, the more you CAN do", and Nimoy seems to embody that philosophy. :-)

3. That's a great story, and with a name like that, the guy really had to be an animator
Otherwise, he'd have been stuck being a Tolkien villain!
