Will there EVER be another Pink Floyd album, or is it time to mentally prepare for the fact that

they are a part of music history now.

Rumors keep surfacing that there is to be another album, or that Roger Waters and David Gilmour have made peace, etc...

But in spite of years and years of such rumors, nothing has happened. Roger Waters performed at Al Gore's amazing global warming awareness concert a couple of years ago, and he is obviously in good form. I don't know what Gilmour's situation is.

Are those of us who are hoping for a reunion or even another "fake" PF album like "Division Bell."

I could live with another album like "A Momentary Lapse of Reason." Mind you, it's not "The Wall" or "Final Cut," but it's passable.

I really miss this band.

EDIT:

P.S. David Gilmour is WRONG about "The Final Cut." That was a superb album. Just my two cents.

1. For my money, Momentary Lapse was their last gasp
And I tried to listen to it all the way through recently but couldn't make it. It still has a few great tracks, but Gilmour just isn't the lyricist that Waters is, and Floyd has always been about the music and lyrics (IMO).

In short, I don't think we'll get another worthy album from them.

2. Regarding the Live 8 concert

Roger said that he went in prepared to "roll over" for the other members of Floyd, and did so, having to bite his tongue all the time. The Wall, shows he understands the spiral towards becoming a fascist control freak, but unlike "Pink" he can't break through.

Understanding a condition doesn't let you escape from it. You may know everything about pain, but you are still in pain.

A Floyd reunion would be a Roger Waters album, and I can't see that happening.

(PS I can't avoid the preachy tone in my writing. Collateral Damage from Law School. LOL)

3. I doubt Gilmour could stand to be in the same studio
with Waters long enough to record a track, much less an album. From what I've read over the years Waters is a nasty piece of work to be around.

4. Richard Wright is dead. What's the point?
Wright may not have been as "essential" as Waters or Gilmour, but he's still quite important to the sound of the band.

Most people say Floyd hasn't made a decent album since "The Wall". I'd say they haven't made one since "Piper", but that's just me.

They have nothing left to offer as a unit. Just let them fade away, peacefully.
