Well, actually, other things rock as well as grits for breakfast. But I'm saying that that's all I'm saying about grits for breakfast.

2. That is all because that is enough!
It does rock for breakfast :D

I have been considering oatmeal for a hot breakfast lately, but as I prefer to eat that with sugar and know how that affects my energy level later on, grits witha little salt and pepper makes much more sense :)

Grits with salt and pepper and a big gob of butter. Nothing better for breakfast.

5. One of the best things about traveling in the South
Always some nice hot grits - not available in the Northeast!

And I agree about the salt, pepper and butter!

25. All this talk of grits is making me hungry.
My family won't eat them or fried okra either. I've been told I like "poor people food". Grits, okra, beans, spam, mashed tators....so...they're good for you. And....I like poor people clothes...hand me downs now eloquently referred to as "gentle used" or "recycled" clothing. :eyes:

16. Good with butter, salt and pepper.
But NEVER EVER put sugar on it if you're down south or they'll tar and feather you. This boarding school I went to and we were in the dining room where we had grits for breakfast. A family who worked there and their older kids were from Maine and we all stared and laughed at them when...OMG !! They put SUGAR on their grits !!!!

24. Grits any way are great. I eat 'em straight or stirred up with eggs & chorizo
But agreed, grits are corn, they don't need more sweetness on them.

15. After 4 years of college at Alabama
My son loves grits. I was helping him clean out his apartment. I had to confront him with the packets of instant grits I found in his cupboard!

Awkward.
