A song you love the melody/beat of, but the lyrics suck, or the philosophy expressed sucks.

Mine: "If I Can't Have You," Yvonne Elliman.

1. Lots of Ted Nugent songs. I really like his music, but the fact
that he is a fascist comes through too often in his lyrics. Stranglehold has some horrible lyrics.

2. Howard Jones' "You Know I Love You" - for example,
"You got the socket, I got the plug,
I am the floor, you are the rug"

:puke:

But I always thought the melody of the song was very catchy, a good workout song.

3. For some reason
the line in "Hungry Heart' by Springsteen that goes- "Got a wife and kids in Baltimore Jack, took a ride and never went back" pissed me off for a long time. Making a hero out of a guy that abandons his family. But I realize he's just telling a story

4. Most Sublime songs
The combination of sex with threats of violence is disturbing to me.

5. I always have internal conflicts when I hear "The Night they Drove Old Dixie Down."
I think the lyrics are great on one level, and the melody is beautiful and catchy. And, okay, maybe both sides in a conflict deserve to be heard. But when Virgil Cain sings about his brother being put into his grave by a Yankee when he was "just 18, strong and brave" I think: "Yeah, too bad, Dixie Boy. Lots of Union soldiers were 18, strong and brave too. But the Confederacy just HAD to go and break away and fight for slavery and 'states' rights.' Tough noogies." (Or something to that effect.)
