8. On this list, definitely Pearl Jam

with Alannis a close second.

Pearl Jam is absolutely unlistenable. One of those acrid aftertastes from the 90s, like Hootie & the Blowhards.

11. I saw Hootie open up for the Allman Bros. once, it was about a month BEFORE they

broke huge, so I went to the show wondering who the opening band was. Heck, I was thinking "they're opening for the Allman's, they must be pretty good!"

I was WAAAAAYYYYYY off.

However, after about four tunes I overheard the guy behind me quip to his buddy "Who the hell is this? Blow me and the Hootfish?

I laughed hard enough to make that 40 minutes almost worthh it! :)

What happens when you take a 70s arena/cock rock band, get rid of the flashy guitar solos, the catchy hook-laden songs, and replace the frontman with a yodeler with a one-octave range and cover them in flannel?

9. Definitely Journey.

They had a few decent songs in the late 70's, but the minute they replaced Gregg Rolie with that wuss Jonathan Cain, it was all over. That dick ruined The Babys too.

13. Of course I'm going for KISS because KISS just sucks and will always suck.....

....but from that list number two has to be Van Halen. Not that Van Halen was all that bad, but they gave us "Jump", one of the most horrible synth-rock dreck pieces imaginable. No band that gives us "Jump" deserves to be called one of rock's greatest bands ever, I don't care what they did before or after.

I'd also include any metal band that had its hey-day in the 1980s with the possible exception of Metallica. Judas Priest, Motley Crue, Def Leppard, Poison, even G&R....yuck....just yuck....One of the reasons the 1990s were so enjoyable musically was that it cleaned the slate from the horrible music from the decade before.

And if we are going beyond just rock music, I'll add Michael Jackson and Prince to the list.....just always thought they were both overrated, even back when they were relevant.
