$443 for a 40 minute doctor appointment

No major surgery was done. The doctor poked at my husband's herniated muscle, told him it was nothing to worry about and sent him on his way.

For some reason, my husband's insurance has not paid it so we just got this bill.

40 minutes. $443.

That's $665/hour.

Is it me or is that a ridiculous amount of money?

That is a hefty bill. Still, 40 minutes is a long time for a doctor to spend examining a patient. Most times I've been to the doctor, I get to see (usually) him for about 10-15 minutes.

Still, I wonder why it was so expensive...plus, why didn't your insurance pick up any of it?

It's outrageous, and I'm sorry you have to deal with it.
