I Think Bacon Is Going To Be Pretty Cheap Soon
no one to buy the pork.

Pork chops

Pulled Pork

Ham

Bacon

Pork Loin

Pork roast

Just wear a level 4 biohazard suit when cooking and handling it and then cook it really good and you'll be fine I'm sure...

Seriously, I fear that we have a perfect storm setting in, Mexico is a fairly open border, the virus is being spread human to human, it is apparently a combination of avian, swine, and another flu that have recombined to make it extra nasty.

So we have vaccine for it already? Hmm... is that true? A doctor told me that today and it makes me suspicious to imagine that is possible. Kinda like maybe it was a vaccine waiting for an outbreak? I'm not totally paranoid because sometimes they really are out to get you...

:hi: I hate to break up the jovial nature of the lounge, but on the other hand, I think we gotta take this one seriously. It could become self limiting... it could become more lethal, hard to predict the swing on a virus.

Be ready to get vaccinated soon because it won't take long before it will be called a national emergency as it is already pinging high on the WHO's radar screens. We are the WHO for the most part.

No there is NO vaccine for this . It's a brand new virus how could there be? Of will take 8, 10,12 months to make one.what that person might be referring to is a universal flu vaccine on clinical trials that is said to be effective agaisnt H5N1 (bird flu). It's possible this vaccine MIGHT give some protection. Also you CANNOT get influenza from eating pork! Just like you can't get bird flu from eating chicken. People need to calm down listen to the CDC and WHO on this wash their hands frequently and stop spreading misinformation based on what they are hearing from peoples on teh internets.as an immunologist frankly it's pissing me off the idiocy out there.Influenza has been around for years and the basic biology of this has not changed in the last week! Also you are wrong about the make up of the WHO...Americans are only a minority there Swiss/European scientists make up the majority. They are extremely lnowedgeable too when it comes to infectious disease-I worked with them when I was at NIH working on malaria vaccines..

13. Zoot, you gotta let baseball go at bed time.
Nothing good comes from that.

Well, unless you win. Like the Sox did. Then it's good. First place and all.

19. errrr.....
 easy does it...

I hope no one gets their facts from the lounge anyway.

A doctor did tell me that...doesn't mean he knows what he's talking about though.

One of the antivirals for flu I've read has been effective at treating it and the CDC was releasing it in preparation.

No you can't get it from eating pork, if you slaughter pigs that have it, who knows? As far as I know it is a human to human airborne particle transmission.

I hope you immunologists get a vaccine soon though :P

17. First I don't trust the msm on science
Second I know they've done pcr on the virus...they don't just prounounce it swine flu with no evidence Third it's a mutant virus of swine bird and a THIRD unknown viral strain --I suspect that pigs are no longer succeptible.pigs are incubators for mutation. If it was lethal enough to the pigs, you won't find it anymore either. It's obvious that this viral mutant has been around for a long time.. But the jump to humans is recent.frankly finding the right pigs at this point is probably impossible. They are probably all dead and eaten. Influenza viri has one of the highest rates of mutation of any type of viri. They evolve rapidly
