"Don't Tutch the Butt" at the vet the other day
I took Angel, our adopted stray, to the vet Saturday to see if he had a microchip. Alas, he does not.*

Since he has no chip, I ask for an exam and FIV/FELV test and rabies shot. While the doc is examining him, she looks at his rear to examine his nether regions. I actually said out loud, "don't touch the butt!" She didn't say anything.

Next stop for Angel is Petfinder.com.

* People went to all the trouble to remove the claws from all four of this sweet cat's feet - fucking barbarians - and don't even give him a microchip. I'm sure his loss is nothing for them. After all, he's not as important as their furniture.

2. If you judge by the growling, no.
He is just the sweetest cat, Malta Blue. It breaks my heart to have to try to find a new home for him. I ache to cuddle him and make him mine. But he won't come into the house (that is good for us, but not for him), and he won't get along with any of our others. :(

3. Do you have any idea about Angel's age?
I hope you have a photo of him you'd be willing to share with us.

4. Vet estimated his age at about 3-4 years old.
He's camera shy.

5. Or a slightly different note, our daughter had to clean off our cat's
dingleberrys last night! So I guess she did have to tutch the butt!!

The cat is the one we adopted from Flaxbee several years ago.

All of our cats are indoor and have never had their claws removed. My wife gives them a front manicure every couple of weeks which they don't seem to mind.

7. trimming their claws is a very good thing
It takes away their ability to scratch one's possessions almost as well as de-clawing.

9. It's amazing that he's survived as an outside cat without his claws, being basically defenseless.

He can't even climb a tree to get away from attackers.
