I hate interviews!

I am unemployed and awaiting a call for a telephone interview. I've done 4 in the last 3 months and waiting for the call just makes me sick. My stomach hurts and I feel all edgy. I've been told I interview very well but after getting no offers I have lost my confidence completely.

I need a hug or a drink! Uuuuughhhh!

Interview advice: every company wants to know what value _you_ can bring to the company and its culture. How will the company's investment in you pay off for THEM? If you can calm down enough to think through that before the call, you're gonna put yourself in the lead. Have you backgrounded the prospective employer? Do you know their core values, their brand messages? YOU CAN DO THIS!

I have studied their website and have researched information on them. I am pretty good at the situational questions and have lots of examples of how I have made positive contributions in previous positions. Thank you so much!! I don't know why this one is bugging me so much!

4. Then you have no valid reason to be worried or sick.

Make yourself a nice tea. Doodle a little on a piece of typing paper -- make a three-point list of YOUR unique selling points.

Like:

1. Uniquely collaborative -- I leave my ego at the door.
2. I enable my colleagues' success; this enables our customers' success.
3. I like to work!

Good idea. I don't know what the hell is wrong with me! I think it's because my finances are getting to the point where I really need work within the next few weeks or I'm in serious trouble. I'm freaking myself out like an idiot!

You're an _asset_. FORGET about your personal financial situation for the duration of the interview. Think about what you can bring to the prospective employer's table. You are NOT an idiot and you cannot afford to entertain such self-deprecating silliness. They NEED you! Own it, sweetie!

hates telephone interviews. they are harder as you dont have any facial queues to lead you etc.
